Laura
Sergis is a graduate of Columbia University where she
received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology.
She attended University of California Medical School.
She then did both intern and residency training
in pediactrics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She
is Board Certified in Pediactrics and has been working
in private practice in Torrance since 1999. She
is on staff at both Torrance Memorial Medical Center and
Little Company of Mary Hospital. She was Vice Chair
of the Department of Pediatrics at Torrance Memorial in
2003 and 2004 and last year was Chair of the Pediatric
Quality Management Committee.
Laura delivered a premature baby on April 1, 2004.
Christina was born at 25 weeks gestation. She weighed
1 pound and 9 ounces and was 12 1/2 inches long. She
had red hair like her Dad and big blue eyes. Christina
lived for 12 days and then passed away due to complications
of her extreme prematurity.
