A letter from Elena's Daddy

Wednesday, May 18, 2005

I could have never prayed for a more incredible daughter than Elena.   I could have never been given a more incredible wife than Carrie.  Our family experience has been indescribable thus far.

My desire to be close to Elena brings me to a place where the memory of holding her, feeling her move in my hands requires me to recount her birth and death.  I go there daily.  This is a unique experience.  Uniquely common.  I'm proud that this website has become a place where the process of healing can be nurtured, even begun.  The mother's bracelets and The Shinining Light Fund are a tool to point the way to hope.  Hope of a future after such a destructive tradgedy.

The Shining Light Fund will always strive to provide our special service and message to mothers, fathers and families in need at no financial request.  Currently our task is to put vital pieces into place.  The process of establishing The Shining Light Fund is motivated by a desire to ensure longevity to the organization in an effort that no child is forgotten and no mother or father goes unacknowledged.

We thank those of you who have already made requests and appreciate and applaud your patience.  Our challenge is and will continually be balancing providing a quality services as well as meeting the immediacy of your need.   If you have not yet made your request, please do so as our motivation comes from knowing that The Shining Light Fund fulfills a definate need for those affected by our uniquely common experience.

With much love and respect to the mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles brothers and sisters and especially the babies,

Jonathan Pascual
